Robbie is a native of Niagara Falls, Ontario who always had a passion for cooking. In high school, he participated in a culinary skills competition, which introduced him to Niagara College’s Canadian Food and Wine Institute. He fell in love with the idea of pursuing a culinary education at Niagara College which has its own greenhouse, brewery, winery and restaurant on campus, and enrolled in NC’s Culinary Management program. He was scouted to become one of two newest members of Junior Culinary Team Canada in 2015 after competing in a black box culinary competition. He enjoys bringing Italian and Indian flair to the junior national team.
“Being part of the team pushes me to step up and perform with people that have much more experience than me,” he says.
He graduated from Culinary Management in 2016 and is looking forward to representing his country at the Culinary Olympics and the opportunity to take home the gold.
Robbie currently works at Two Sisters Vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake.
“This is such a remarkable opportunity that few people get to experience. The biggest reward is being able to represent my country doing something that I love. It’s a huge privilege and I am honoured to do so. Being a member of Junior Culinary Team Canada has taught me so much about the industry and has me striving for perfection, because perfection is expected in the World Culinary Olympics.”
