From Peterborough, Ontario, David participated in Niagara College’s High School Cook-Off Competition and fell in love with the staff and the ambience at the College. He enrolled in the Culinary Management program, from which he graduated in 2014.
He became interested in being a member of Junior Culinary Team Canada out of a desire to become a part of something great and to demonstrate to his family that the profession he chose was the right one.
David values the time management and teamwork skills he gained at the College – attributes that he believes have been a part of the team’s success.
“When the team was announced the winner of Junior Culinary Team Canada, I felt like all the months with no sleep and all the hard work was worth it. It was an incredible moment to realize that you do not only represent your team, but now represent the whole country. My personal goal is to own my own restaurant before I am 30. I believe the experiences that I gain from being on this team will definitely help me to run a successful business.”
