Daniella is a native of St. Catharines, Ontario and a graduate Niagara College’s Culinary Management program (2014). From her first year at the College, she became very involved in competitions and volunteer events. She became familiar with the chef professors and loved learning from them. Being on Team Canada has given her an opportunity to learn and to compete at an international level.
Daniella earned top honours among young chefs around the world when she won the Young Chef Olympiad in India in February 2016. She was also named among the Ontario Hostelry Institute’s Top 30 Under 30 in spring 2016.
“My dad used to be a chef, so sharing my success has been really meaningful. He understands how competitive this industry can be and he is extremely proud of me.
The one-on-one time with so many great chefs and the experience that I am gaining throughout this journey is amazing. I hope that one day I can be a chef who culinary students will look up to.
I would have to say the most rewarding part of being on the team is representing Niagara College and Canada. We have all worked extremely hard to get where we are. I am so proud and excited for each and every one of us.”
